What is MyTeslaApp?
A companion app for Tesla owners that turns your car's live data into one dashboard: real-time vitals, a driving-efficiency HUD, route planning with send-to-car, charging insights, battery and vehicle health, security and Sentry, automations, and reports. It runs on desktop, on your phone, and in your Tesla's own browser.
How is this different from the official Tesla app?
The Tesla app is great for basics. MyTeslaApp adds the things it does not: a real-time driving HUD with a live efficiency score, multi-stop route planning with charger stops and battery projection, custom automations and alerts, charging cost analysis at your own electricity rate, battery degradation forecasting, and exportable reports.
Is it really real-time?
Yes. MyTeslaApp uses Tesla's Fleet Telemetry stream, so vitals update the moment the car reports them instead of on a slow polling interval. While you drive, the HUD updates live.
Is my data private?
Your data stays yours. We are not affiliated with Tesla, and your vehicle data is used to power your dashboard, not sold. Any anonymous, aggregated fleet insights are strictly opt-out and k-anonymized so no individual car is identifiable.
Which cars are supported?
Tesla vehicles that support Tesla's Fleet API and Fleet Telemetry - the current Model 3, Y, S and X lineup. You connect your car once through Tesla's official sign-in.
What does it cost?
Every account starts with a 30-day free trial with all features unlocked. After that, paid plans start at $5/month, with Pro and Pro+ tiers adding longer history and every feature.
Can I use it while driving?
Yes. MyTeslaApp runs in your Tesla's built-in browser, giving you a live view on the center screen, and it works on your phone and computer at the same time.
How do I connect my Tesla?
Create an account, then connect your car through Tesla's official OAuth sign-in. You never share your Tesla password with us - authorization happens on Tesla's own site.
Is there an iPhone app?
MyTeslaApp installs to your iPhone home screen as an app (add to Home Screen from Safari) with push notifications for Sentry, geofence and automation alerts. A native App Store version is in progress.
Do I need any special hardware?
No. Everything works from your car's existing connectivity. Optional smart-home connectors let automations reach other devices, but they are not required.
